Aaron began a career in pop music on the heels of his brother Nick’s success with the Backstreet Boys and released his debut self-titled album in 1997 at just 9 years old. His second album Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), featuring the hit singles I Want Candy and That’s How I Beat Shaq, was released in 2000 and sold more than three million copies in the US.

He then went on to guest star in episodes of All That and Lizzie McGuire, consequently beginning a short-lived romance with Hilary Duff, and made his Broadway debut in Seussical the Musical in 2001.

In 2005 Aaron starred in his only feature film Popstar, which was heavily based on his own life in the spotlight, and the following year he and his four siblings reunited for the reality show House of Carters.

He also faced a number of legal troubles in recent years and struggled with substance abuse and mental health complications.
