It may be a new year, but Kmart is still pulling out all the stops in the affordable furniture department.
So to kick off 2019, the Aussie department store has got fans going crazy for a $49 timber chair.
The chair hasn’t even been officially released yet, but that’s not stopped the internet from freaking out over the new item.
Zoe Gilpin, who runs the blog The DIY Decorator, managed to snag one at her local Kmart store.
Posting a photo of the chair – along with a new plant stand – to her Instagram account, the blogger made some of her 69,000 followers very jealous over her luck at hunting down the bargain chair.
“Impressed with the chair,” she said. “It’s quite light but sturdy and looks fab!”
Me: I'm not getting anything from the new @kmartaus home release… Also me: Ooh that plant stand ($19) and chair ($49) live with me now 🙌 #damnyoukmart Impressed with the chair. One follower of Zoe’s detailed a funny story on her journey to track the new furniture release down.
“I visited 2 @kmartaus stores with no luck before deciding to call,” she commented. “Then when I called the guy said ‘did you just call?’ And I hadn’t.
“Then he said ‘because I had 2 other people just call asking for the exact same things!’ (Bamboo pot holder and timer chair).”
Many others simply declared they were also on the lookout for the bargain item.
Teasing their customers just slightly, Kmart already has the ‘Timber Occasional Chair’ available online but only as a “sneak peek” but said it will be “coming soon”.
We’re hedging our bets most people are hoping sooner, rather than later…
