These 3 Personality Types Manifest Good Luck Naturally, According to Psychologists
You know those people who seem to have an effortless knack for attracting good luck? Whether it's scoring a high-paying job, meeting their soulmate at the grocery store or somehow always finding a parking spot close to the entrance—they make life look charmed. But is it really luck, or is there more at play?
Dr. Dakari Quimby, a clinical psychologist with Helpguide Handbook, and Reena B. Patel, a licensed educational psychologist and board certified behavior analyst, share their thoughts on which personality types manifest good luck naturally.
People who manifest good luck naturally often share a combination of traits that help them see opportunities where others might see obstacles. They exude confidence by maintaining a positive outlook. Their ability to attract favorable outcomes isn’t accidental, it’s an extension of how they view and interact with the world around them.
Dr. Quimby explains that certain personality characteristics and attachment styles are linked to attracting good fortune. For example, those with a secure attachment style typically have a strong sense of trust and positivity in their relationships, which may lead to strong connections and lasting bonds. Personality Traits That Attract Luck
Luck is often shaped by the way we think and move through our lives. Folks with certain personality traits seem to have a magnetic pull for good luck.
"Personality traits like extraversion, openness to new experiences and conscientiousness often help with success and the ability to form networks, which gives one more social and professional opportunities," Dr. Quimby explains.
Singing a note of a similar tune, Patel adds how a lot of luck has to do with your mindset. If you're a glass-half-full type of person, you tend to see more positive outcomes because that's how you see the world.
Patel elaborates that extraverts are action-oriented, energized and social, empowering them to take control where they can and see the positives.
"At the end of the day, this really has to do with your own perspective and how you personally choose to see things and view the world around you," she shares.
Along with extraversion, being open to new experiences potentially leads to exciting and beneficial situations. Conscientious people are typically organized and diligent which can promote academic and professional achievement, as Dr. Quimby says.

With extraversion being a key personality trait, it only makes sense that certain Myers-Briggs personality types starting with the letter "E" manifest good luck naturally. Yes, the E stands for "Extraverted."
For example, Patel tells us an ESFJ (a personality type with the Extraverted, Observant, Feeling and Judging traits) tends to believe the best about other people, making them more positive.
ENTJ personality types (Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking and Judging) are outspoken, confident and great at making plans, so a lot of this positive energy and taking control allows them to see positive outcomes.
Also, "ENFP [a personality type with the Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting traits] is another one where people tend to be charismatic and energetic," Patel explains. "They bring good energy and a point of view that allows you to also see the world in a good light, focusing on the positives instead of the negatives."

The Attachment Style That Manifests Good Luck
"Those with secure attachments usually maintain healthier, more stable relationships, providing a solid social foundation that may lead to opportunities such as job offers or partnerships," Dr. Quimby says.
A secure attachment style is characterized by a strong sense of trust, emotional safety and comfort in relationships. People with secure attachment styles are typically confident in their ability to form and maintain healthy relationships. Plus, they're skilled communicators who handle conflict constructively and kindly.
"Their positive demeanor and trustworthiness make them more approachable and can attract more opportunities. They also may be better at establishing boundaries that protect them from being consistently exposed to people who are causing them stress," Dr. Quimby explains.

Self-Fulfilling Prophecy vs. Good Luck
Manifestation is the process of turning your desires or goals into reality through focused belief. Rooted in the idea that your mindset and energy can influence outcomes, manifestation often involves visualizing what you want, maintaining a positive attitude and taking steps toward achieving it.
So, if you manifest good luck, how much of that has to do with a self-fulfilling prophecy of believing you're naturally lucky?
The concept of a "self-fulfilling prophecy" can influence how one perceives luck, Dr. Quimby says. If you believe you're lucky, this can encourage you to take more risks and look for new opportunities.
"You may embody more self-confidence and self-efficacy, thus increasing your chances of positive outcomes. This also reinforces your belief in your own luck, creating a cycle of positive expectations and successful experiences," he shares.
However, seeing yourself as unlucky might prevent you from taking chances, which limits your possibilities for success.

How To Become Luckier
If you're ready to turn your luck around, Dr. Quimby and Patel have some solid advice. Mindset is obviously a huge factor, along with your personal beliefs and past experiences which impact how you see the world.
"When you choose to find the good and see the world as a glass half full, your world tends to look that way too," Patel says.
Dr. Quimby acknowledges that trying to maintain a positive outlook can motivate you to take chances and recognize opportunities you might otherwise overlook. Plus, staying open and curious can expose you to new experiences and learning opportunities that broaden your potential for good things to happen.
"Staying persistent and resilient—especially in challenging situations—can sometimes transform those situations into opportunities," he explains.
