Over the years, so many famous faces have joined the show, while the show itself has turned several women into stars. It's the same story in many of the other parts of the country where Real Housewives reign supreme, like in New Jersey and New York City.

But not everyone is up for the spotlight and scrutiny of being a cast member. In fact, some major celebrities have shied away from the thought of joining, while others have turned the show down entirely. Here are 13 who've done either the former or the latter:
1. Christina Applegate
According to Deadline , Christina said on her podcast MeSsy in April that she once was asked to join Beverly Hills housewives. "I was asked to be a Housewife for Beverly Hills," she said, per Deadline. "They asked me to be one, probably ten years ago, I would say."
However, Christina didn't think she'd make for a good cast member, noting a conversation she had with one of the show's executive producers after they became her friend. "I said, 'Chris, now that you know me, would I have been a fun Housewife?' He's like, 'No, it would've been the most boring s— I've ever seen in my life,'" she said.
"I wouldn't have shown up to any dinners. I would've been in my sweatpants and I'd be laying in bed. What fun is that? No, none of that. No, no. I would be the worst housewife anyway," Christina added.

According to People , Tamar Braxton revealed on Carlos King's podcast Reality with the King in May that she turned down joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta .
"I've had conversations but the truth is, it's just no way I'm going to sit and get a wig put on and get my face beat to argue with a bunch of bitches about nothing," she said, per People. "I can't do it. What does that do for me in my life? What's the argument?"
She added that "all money ain't good money" and lives by the mantra "what's for me won't miss me."
"It's not worth my mental to sit up here and get into an argument with another Black beautiful woman about nothing so 'other people' can think this is what we're about," she said.

Monica told People in 2017 that she would only join The Real Housewives of Atlanta if she could be an executive producer and review the show's content before it aired.
"I would only join a show that I could also be executive producer of because what my children see me do is important to me," she told the publication. "I would only be on a show where I could see everything before it airs and be a full participant in what it means."
She went on to say that the only type of TV show she'd like to do is one that would "help girls like myself or people from the communities that are similar to the world that I'm from." Monica was born and raised in Georgia.

"They come in, and it seems like they're too fangirly, so I don't really think it's a good idea for me. Also, it doesn't seem like it, but I don't like fighting. I really don't. I would cry a lot."
