You already know you chow more during Grey's, but eating in front of the idiot box makes you snack more later, says a study in Appetite. Female volunteers ate one day while watching the tube and one day away from it. When offered cookies hours after eating, they ate 20 per cent more after watching the telly. The TV may cause you to space out about what you ate, leading to overeating, says study author Dr Suzanne Higgs, of the University of Birmingham, UK. Can't avoid distractions? Snap a pic of your dinner and refer to it before you slip into snack mode.
