These days, iPods, iPhones and other digital media players rank right up there with our childhood charm bracelets as our most beloved possessions: Aussies spent $204 million on these shiny wonders in the first half of 2008. And iPhones are fast becoming the must-have product of the decade.

Here, ways to use your iPhone for more than making calls, listening to music and surfing the net... 'cause you spent good cash on that thing.

1 Ditch the Post-its
When you spot a must-make salmon stir-fry recipe, take a pic of it with your iPhone instead of scribbling it down on a random scrap of paper. That way you'll have the ingredient list with you when you head to the supermarket.

2 Save using up your cap
When you find a webpage you'll want to look at again later, take a screenshot so you don't have to go back to it on the internet. Do it by holding the "home" button and tapping the power button at the same time to save an image of the page. The file will save in your Photo app. Good one!

3 Keep your documents with you
Use it to back-up and transfer important text files - say, between your office computer and home computer. Download a program called DiskAid (digidna.net) to make it easy peasy.
