According to a survey of more than 2000 people by Harris Interactive - on behalf of smartphone security company, Lookout - 58 per cent of users can't go one hour without checking their phone.
And the second-most common place to do it? The loo, where 47 per cent of people aged 18 to 44 text, browse Tumblr and Tweet - hopefully not about their bowel movements.
The most common place to check phones is in bed (69 per cent), while 41 per cent of 18-44 year-olds whip out their gadgets over dinner with friends. Rude!
