Laughin' nine to five

Sitting in your office trying to fight off Mondayitis? It turns out some office workers are feeling less despair than others – especially if they have a funny boss.

A new poll by www.officebroker.com found that being able to laugh with a manager is the single most effective trait when it comes to developing good relationships between employees and bosses.

“A sense of humour is an extremely personal thing, so any worker lucky enough to have a boss with the same tastes as them could be on to a winner in terms of job satisfaction,” said a spokesperson from officebroker.com. “In fact, of those employees we polled, many stated they believed that the ability to share a joke with a boss encouraged a culture of openness in the workplace and helped remove formal barriers.

After humour, the most favourable traits were trust, patience, fairness and open communication.
