
Scientists from a UK biotechnology firm, Lyotec, have created modified chocolate that increases your body’s absoprtion of cocoa flavanols – molecules found in the good stuff that increases oxygenation of your skin, a key element of the anti-ageing process.
They claim that after eating a small chunk of the modified chocolate, your body will absorb 20 more times the amount of flavanols than regular chocolate. “Now everyone can benefit from the intrinsic values of cocoa flavanols without compromising their health and habits,” Lyotec founder Dr Ivan Petyaev said.

But before you get too excited, remember that eating more chocolate also means an increase in kilojoule consumption and saturated fat so while your skin might see the benefits, it could be doing more damage to your insides.
