Kylie Minogue has launched her first ever fragrance for men, Inverse. Kylie's model boyfriend, the sexy Spaniard, Andres Velencoso Segura, fronts the campaign and appears in the television advertisement with the pop princess. As for the juice itself, perfumer Christophe Raynaud has created a pleasing oriental. Notes of lavender, amber and tonka bean mingle with musk while evaporated milk gives it a twist of originality.
Who caught up with Kylie for a chat about her new scent and what she finds sexy in a man.
Does your music help inspire you when developing new fragrance ideas?
It does, in the sense that my music is about connection and experience. The fragrances I create are for the people I reach through music and other artistic endeavours.
What do you enjoy most about creating fragrances?
Everything!! It's such an inspiring mixture of science and emotions. I've discovered so much about the art of fragrance and it's been an amazing experience. I listened to the men in my life, whom I love to pieces, and they really wanted me to create a fragrance for them. The ultimate is to recognise one of my fragrances on someone.
Tell us about the name "Inverse"?
I came up with this name to represent the duality of the male, the concept we expanded upon in the advertising campaign.
What do you find most sexy in a man?
Charisma, his mind, intellect, humour, sensual nature, artistry.
Is a man allowed to smell better than his girl?
Hah!! Tricky question ... he should smell good, but the lady should always be the most appealing flower in the arrangement!!”
