DRAMA; Tues., Oct. 27, 9.30 PM; Seven
STARRING: John Howard, Judith McGrath

After 12 years of accidents, emergencies, weddings, births and deaths, All Saints is finally closing its doors. But the ED gets on with business as usual: it's Von's last day, and when a young girl presents with stomach pains, she's determined to produce a happy ending. Meanwhile, Adam, Charlotte and Gabrielle attempt to help a devoted husband let his dying wife go, and Steve tries to persuade Gaby to keep the baby.

Fans will love the neat wrapping-up of most of the ongoing story-lines, but more time could have been spent looking back: a brief closing montage is all we see of the series' storied past. As a farewell to a much-loved drama that still draws plenty of viewers, the episode leaves something to be desired. But a closing scene where all the team gather to toast Von leaves a warm glow — and delivers a few surprises.
