He beat MasterChef judge Matt Preston to the Most Popular New Talent Logie, but Home and Away star Luke Mitchell was celebrating a double victory at Melbourne’s Crown Casino on May 2 - his six month anniversary with girlfriend and co-star Rebecca Breeds.

The loved-up stars, who walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, initially kept their relationship secret from their Home and Away co-stars, but were unable to hide their mutual attraction for long, choosing TV's night of nights to publicly debut their romance.

"Words can't describe her," the Gold Coast native told WHO of Breeds, who was stunning in a white tulle Fernando Frissoni frock accessorised with a Helene Zubeldia statement necklace.

The feeling was clearly mutual, with Breeds - who was pipped to the Most Popular Actress Logie by Packed to the Rafters star Rebecca Gibney - gushing, "He's amazing. He's looked after me today and kept me calm." The pair had spent their day lunching with friends in Melbourne and watching the movie Up in their Hilton Hotel suite.

At the Seven after-party, the couple, both 21, kept close as they mingled with stable stars including Gold Logie winner Ray Meagher, with a smitten Breeds clearly proud of her surfer beau, rubbing his back while chatting with his family members.

Overwhelmed and humbled by his win, Mitchell, who plays Romeo on the soap, insists working on Home and Away won't hamper their relationship. "It's good because even though we work on the same show, we don't have many scenes together. It's exciting when we see each other."
