Despite admitting she was struggling leaving her four-month-old daughter Sunday at the Nashville property she shares with Urban to attend the world premiere of Australia tonight, Kidman, elegant in a white strapless knee-length cocktail dress, said she was so excited about being a part of the Australia celebration.
"I got on the plane to come back here and I had to leave her for 24 hours, I haven't done that yet and so I'm still reeling from it," Kidman told the pack of media who assembled at the Museum of Contemporary Art at 1pm today.
"But at the same time I wanted to do it because this is a once in a lifetime thing. I mean, rarely do you get to make a film that you've dreamt of making since you were little," Kidman, sitting in between Luhrmann and the film's 11-year-old star discovery Brandon Walters, told the press.
"So when I was flying back with Keith we were so excited and I think that's the simplest way to say about this: that this is a celebration for me, and hopefully for this country."
However when quizzed about continuing her stellar career in film, Kidman, 41, was less committal, instead referencing her desire to have more children.
"In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don't know. I mean, I'm in a place in my life where I've had some great opportunities but I may just choose to have some more children," she said.
"I have no idea what's in my future but I'm very at peace with where I'm going to be, But there's many things I want to do besides act."
