Larry Emdur with co-host Kylie Gillies

Happy Birthday!
Thank you! Best birthday I've ever had! Yeah, two years in telly, that's great!

As an MC at the celebratory party you were fantastic!
Well hopefully I'll get some weddings and Bar Mitzvahs out of it.

What's been your favourite moment of the last two years of Morning Shows?
Oooh. I'd say the highlight was Kylie singing with Ronan Keating. That was amazing! Amazing to see a host so far out of her comfort zone and a milestone for us to have this little show that started not so long ago have international artists like Ronan Keating coming in and hosting for a day. They sang Time After Time. I mean he was singing it and Kylie just came in at the end. But it was one of those moments where I thought, "Wow, we're really lucky with what we do."

How about something, perhaps, you shouldn't have done?
There was a Greek dancer on one time. He was quite a famous Greek pop star and I was a bit bored watching all the girls being seduced by him. So I got up and started doing my version of the dance which I'm sure offended most everybody who saw it! But we are lucky on this show that it's live and it's fun and it's exciting. You know, when we drift from the scripts, that's often when the good stuff can kick in!

You were the game show king. Is it different being a morning show host?
It's a totally different energy. Having 300 people yelling and screaming at you to win a fridge is a massively different concept! I was doing that for so long, it's nice to sit down and take a breath and have a cup of tea and let things evolve. I'm still very much learning, looking at Kylie every day going, "That's how you do it!" It makes it exciting knowing I haven't totally got a grip on it. Yet!

So you like the thrill of danger?
That's right, the "What's happening next?" (laughs)

OK, 'fess up: favourite product?
Oh, look I've got a couple of good ones. The Ab King Pro! But I think the Snuggie's taken over, the Snuggie's quite popular at home.

Have you got the "burgundy" or the "royal blue"?
We've got the blue one and there's a battle for that. See, I reckon blue means it's Dad's. I got that colour because I thought the girls in the family aren't going to want it, but they want it. So (laughs) that's been the most popular. The Ab King Pro gets a workout every now and again but by far the Snuggie is the most sought after.

Do you reckon Snuggies are going to conquer all?
I think one day we will see Snuggies saving the world. If they could make a Kevlar one, we could send them off to the soldiers. I think there's a lot of scope for Snuggies.

I'm sure they're working on a bulletproof Snuggie right now. Do you use anything else at home?
No, they're the only two. But don't use them together because that's dangerous. The Snuggie will go into the bendy bit of the Ab King Pro. So you can not use these two in concert.

So Kylie's going on Dancing?
How fantastic is that? We're so excited.

You're not worried she's going to turn up buggered and you're going to have to carry the show?
There's no way in the world that's going to happen. I reckon she could do The Morning Show for 23 hours a day and then go off and do Dancing with the Stars for the other hour. I think she wants to share it with us, too, with the audience. It will be interesting the next day, after the show, but she's promised she'll be there. I think it will be really interesting for our viewers to come along for the ride and see how this competition affects its contestants.

Has she been practising any moves during the ad breaks?
Nah, occasionally she'll hear a bit of music and we'll have a little twist and stuff. But I think she's loathe to do it in front of the crew, just in case there's a camera rolling somewhere in the background.

So she won't do it in front of you guys?
No, we're her business friends and I suppose Dancing with the Stars, that's her party friends (laughs). We get "Nine to Five Kylie" and Dancing with the Stars gets "After Dark Kylie." Like having two different Barbie dolls. She slips into the nearest phone booth and whammo!

Will we see you in spangles next season?
Never, never, ever, ever, never! They were my exact words to the network.

Why do you have this fear of dancing?
Because I can't! I can't do it! That's it, that's all there is to it. I can't dance and I just couldn't put myself through that process. I feel for those guys when they're up being judged and stuff. Knowing that I can't dance and I've got two left feet and no sense of rhythm or timing, I just don't feel like I could put myself up there to be killed every week.

So what show could you go on?
I could be a dead body on CSI. I always thought I could do that. (Laughs) But apart from that I don't think there's anything else.

So there's nothing else you want to do?
You know what, I'm actually really happy. I was looking at this the other day and thinking, "I'm in a really happy place." The show's going great. I love working with Kylie. I love the show and it's something different for me, having done the game shows for so long. So I'm actually thinking this is it! This is great and I really love it. That's a pretty boring answer, isn't it?

No It's a good one to wrap up on. Happy ever after!
And they lived happily ever after.
