Sofia Vergara and longtime love Nick Loeb have called it quits, according to recent reports.

"They've been fighting for a long time. It just ended officially before the weekend."

On Monday, the Modern Family actress, 39, attended the Met Gala in New York City solo and told other guests that the relationship had ended, the New York Post reports. Loeb, said the source, "loved her very much."

The Modern Family actress first stepped out with Loeb, 36, at a Golden Globes party in 2010, although Loeb is not involved in the industry. (The politically active son of John Loeb Jr., who served as ambassador to Denmark under President Reagan, considered a 2010 run for Florida's state senate.)

Loeb reportedly relocated to L.A. to spend more time with Vergara, who has stayed busy with Modern Family filming; in the fall of 2010, he was involved in a serious car crash that landed him in intensive care.

For the next two months, Vergara focused her attention on nursing her ailing boyfriend back to health--and admitted to Us at the time that it was putting a bit of a strain on their relationship.

"It's been a very hard two months--for him and for me!" the Three Stooges star told US Weekly. But, she quickly added, she was happy to help out her man. "I've been with him since the beginning," she shared.

Loeb, for his part, was grateful for his girlfriend's assistance. "I'm in a lot of pain and still stuck in bed," he told Access Hollywood that fall. "I won't walk for several months. Sofia has been great taking care of me--I've been very lucky on that front."

Prior to dating Loeb, Vergara has been linked to singer Craig David and actor Donal Logue. She has an nineteen-year-old son, Manolo, from a previous marriage.

A rep for Vergara could not be reached for comment.
