She may not be as curvy as the original, and he not as metrosexual, but the new Mattel Duke and Duchess of Cambridge versions of Barbie and Ken are regal – and just a little kitschy – enough to make any true collector drool.

The toy company is releasing the figurines in time to mark the real-life royal couple's one-year wedding anniversary, which explains why they are outfitted in their wedding finery: he in dashing red military jacket with a blue sash, and she in a mini-version of her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, replete with tiny tiara and sapphire engagement ring, reports InStyle.

The Barbie-and-Ken dolls will go on sale for $155 from Amazon.com U.K. come April 7. It hasn't been confirmed whether the dolls will be made available in Australia.

I wonder if they meant for the Kate doll to look evil. Come on Mattel, if you must make stupid dolls of real life people, at least make them look like the people they are supposedly modelled after.
