Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic underwent a double lumpectomy on Tuesday as part of her breast cancer treatment, her husband Bill Rancic said Thursday on the Today show.
The E! News host, 37, had cancerous growths in both breasts removed. Doctors also removed lymph nodes that they believed may have been affected.
"Giuliana is a trooper. She pulled through it," Bill Rancic, 40, said. "She's relieved to have it over with and get the cancer out. She's doing well at home and recovering – and I'm adding nurse to my resume. She's having fun with that."
Bill says the surgery, which lasted two hours, appeared to be successful, and a follow up appointment will determine if the cancer, which was caught in the early stages while the couple were undergoing their third round of in vitro fertilization, had spread to the lymph nodes.
"Giuliana has had a tough year and a half. Between the IVF attempts and now with this, I wish I could carry some of the load," he said. "Watching her being wheeled into the [operating room] was heartbreaking for me."
But the pair are taking a positive approach to her treatment. "We're viewing this as a gift, that it was caught very early," he says.
She's also due to begin six weeks of radiation soon. Then, says Bill, "We will kick off 2012 with a new outlook on life."

Why are so many people so scared of using a natural product. is it because it is to much work or what. I don't understand. Natural Cancer Cures Work. Just remember western doctors make money from your cancer and lots of it. How much money does a natural cure make any one.
ReplyAny fruit, veg, grass, tea, bi carb, etc. that can alkalise the body will kill cancer and not in 2 to 3 years but in 5 to 90 days. If you don't believe me then you go have a look on google and try it. You won't die from wheat grass but you will die from radiation. Natural foods in most cases do not kill but most chemical treatments do.
ReplyI've never heard of her, but her story is interesting and she must be brave - have a little respect.
Replyyou can tell what generation all your bitter and twisted people are in, what happened to empathy and caring about people regardless of wether you know them or not.
ReplyWhy do people have to be so rude. Giuliana is well respected reporter for E news, I have been following her and husband Bill ever since they got married. They have been trying to have a baby for sometime and have not been successful, they were to try IVF for the third time when they found out about Giuliana's cancer, it has to be devestating not to mention heartbreaking. My husband has bowel cancer and all the while having treatment has had a very positive atitude carrying on with life as normal as possible. Cancer does not discriminate, it doesn't matter if you're a celebrity or just a normal everyday person, cancer is a horrible disease that no one should ever have to go through. I wish Giuliana and Bill all the best, the love and support of their families will help them through this difficult time. Love to you both xox.
