Despite widespread belief that David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son was named for the spot where he was conceived, Brooklyn actually stemmed from Victoria's love of the name Brooke, which she altered when she learned she was having a boy. "I'd always liked it as a place – it's very multicultural, very grounded. And it was only afterwards that I realised how appropriate it was because it was in New York that I found out I was pregnant," she wrote in her memoir, Learning to Fly.
