Clad in a backless dress, Holmes' protruding bones were on full display at the Mad Money premiere in Westwood, Calif. While some were speculating that the actress was undergoing a Scientologist approved vitamin detox program, others chalked up her waif frame to an eating disorder.

She couldn't pronounce Badgley Mischka on the red carpet in 1998, but months after she wed, Katie Holmes turned heads with a couture glamour. Early last year, however, photos of the actress looking less polished (and more glum) became a familiar trend.
