Its not "empty" calories - it's that your Liver stops doing its job which is metabolising fat into energy (glucose) - so that the liver rids the body of alcohol which the body considers a toxin/poison. Alcohol also INCREASES Estrogen - which makes you store fat more, AND the chemical change of the alcohol your body does to it to be able to rid of it - is acetylealdehyde - which on top of the liver not processing fat - the body - processes MUSCLE as the energy source... And Muscle is another fat burning tool... So pretty much if you Drink alcohol - you HINDER your body from metabolizing Fats. i
