Fashion and food don't tend to go hand in hand usually. Why did you sign up for this?
Fashion people aren't big eaters. Do you know what, it was the lure of the prize money for your favourite charity because it was a big deal. I mean, why wouldn't you do it if that's in the offerings? It was destined to be a good bit of fun anyway.
Who's your charity? It's AEIOU, an intervention program for children with autism. They teach them from a really early age.
Were you worried about revealing the true you? Because you're under pressure here. No, no, I'm under pressure all the time, so it's nothing new. I think that's all part of the fun if you can be a little bit vulnerable or if you can have a meltdown.
Did you have any meltdowns?I had a mini-meltdown, not a real meltdown. It takes a lot to melt me down.
When did you start cooking?Kind of a funny question, when did I start … I don't think I ever really started. I'm a dedicated eater so it was always like a means to an end for me. But the first time was at school when you had to cook something. I think it was in fifth class. Everybody had to cook something, I remember I cooked an omelette.
And was it any good?Well, you know, it was an omelette.
How did you approach your episode? Did you know who you were up against? No I didn't know anything. I knew nothing about who it was, you just had to cook your signature dish. My idea was not to go in there nervous, have a bit of fun. If you go forward that's fantastic so it's not like my career depended on it or anything.
What's your approach to eating in general? Do you eat healthily?I eat healthy all during the week and then on Sunday Mary and I have our naughty day and we can have whatever we want. Generally during the week it's healthy food, otherwise, I find that if I don't eat healthy I don't have good energy levels.
On your cheat day, what’s your pleasure?Everything. Literally I will shovel everything. I love a great cake and I can eat three quarters of an apple pie - I could actually eat the whole thing. Chocolate biscuits, chocolate, hot chips and stuff like that!
Is there anything that you can't stomach?I hate coriander. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than eat that. I hate tripe, I don't like oysters, I don't like anything that has a snotty texture. I can't do it.
Being a world traveller, what's the most exotic that you've tried?I think the food in India is the most exotic, there's any number of things over there. I'm really quite adventurous when I go there, you know, sheep's brains. I'll try everything once just so I say that I've done it and "yes, I do like it" or "no, I don’t like it."
Are you influenced a lot by Greek cooking?Yes, Greek cuisine, Lebanese, and Indian are my favourites.
What did you cook for your signature dish?It was spanakopita, which is cheese and spinach pie. I've been eating it since I was like 4. I'm quite obsessed with it. When we go to Greece I eat it every day and I eat it everywhere and give it a rating and by the end of my trip I’ll go, "Okay, the best one I had was from here."
How did yours rate?Great, it was great.
What would you give it out of ten?Ten.
Did you put any particular effort in how you were going to dress for the cameras that day?Just the normal. Sunnies, black shirt, you know.
What brand of sunnies do you prefer?I've got a lot. The favourite ones, Dior, I always take two. And Giorgio Armani.
How many pairs do you actually own?About 80. I've got a couple of drawers, they're like little babies.
If you were to have a dinner party, what would be on the menu?I would honestly do a Greek feast, because it's just my favourite food and I do it the way they do it in Greece. You lay it all on the table and it comes down in one hit and you can either graze on it or you can eat fast. You can do whatever you want.
And who would be your three top guests?
No-one really, I love being with my family and my friends and to me that's what it's all about. It's relaxed and you don't have to stand on ceremony and that's my perfect kind of dinner.
Do you have a large family?Yeah, well it's not enormous, it's not one of those enormous Greek families. I suppose by Australian standards it's pretty big.
Who would you like to give a good feed to?I would just have to give a good feed to Posh Spice. I've got a feeling she's a really cool girl but I just need to sit down and get her to tuck in a good moussaka and say, "Come on honey, just eat up a little bit."
