Speaking to WHO following his Nov. 6 elimination, the larrikin musician gives the lowdown on Shanina and Tom, why he stripped off, and how he's going to "take it as it comes" with Courtney.
How are you feeling?I'm sad. It sucks to leave so close to the end. I wanted to win pretty f***ing bad.
How is Courtney coping?Courtney's all right. There's two weeks until the finale so we'll see each other again. We knew this was an intense place to start a relationship. We're going to take it as it comes. I'll see her at the finale and we'll go from there.
Have you discussed a long-term plan? We're kind of avoiding the issue. We're dealing with it like five-year-olds.
Hannah told WHO she doesn't think your relationship with Courtney was genuine. We never claimed to be head over heels in love or the perfect couple. It was a comfort thing, yeah, but I'm sure if I met her in my hometown I'd fall for her. I'm not saying it's not going to work, but it's going to be hard because she lives in Perth and I live in Brisbane.
Why did you decide to strip off at the Marie Claire cocktail party, when you knew the judges were there?Tyson and me had had a bit of an argument over me drinking at another party. I went up to speak with him and he's like, "don't worry about it, drink with me now." We just went shot for shot, and he was like, "Let's strip off, let's get in the pool." I'm like, "I've got your back". So we just ran down to the pool. I guess we've been pretty good mates since. He's actually a pretty down-to-earth, cool dude.
Do you have any regrets? My only regret is not getting naked! Nah, I don't have one single regret. I'm going to be myself for as long as humanly possible, so if that gives me bad publicity, or good publicity, I'm just going to love it. I had the most fun out of anyone.
What's going on with Tom and Shanina?I don't know. It used to infuriate me, because they're lying and pretending they don't like each other. It's a touchy situation because Tom's got a girl and it's reality TV. I think they just want to get through this program and they'll probably fall for each other later.
Who was your biggest competition?Rhys. He'll win because there's a demographic of 10 to 14-year-old girls voting, and Rhys is the fantasy teacher that I would want!
What's next?I'm going to conquer the world. I definitely want to keep modelling, that's for sure. Hopefully Martin Chadwick takes me on. If not, I would like to be in a great campaign, I want to act and I want to play in a band. I want to get amongst it and not stop until I can't take it anymore.
