What was the best time you had in the Idol household?
I think when it was just the top four boys that week. We just relaxed a lot more 'cause it was just the guys and it was really kind of like a celebration. It was a boys' club. It was really fun just kicking the footy around in the green room.
Did you sort of have conflicts on whether you play AFL or Rugby League?
No we are all kind of different. I used to play union, Wes played AFL, Teale was a league player and Luke has got the weirdest kicking style in the world, it's so funny. I just kept kicking it to Luke because I wanted to see him kicking.
Was anything broken in the green room?
Yes. Lamps were broken, there were holes in the ceiling. We kicked the ball pretty hard! It was kinda like all sanity went out the window at one point and we were kicking it as hard as we could, straight into TV screens. We kind of felt like rock stars and then we thought we better pull it back.
Now what about the levels of cleanliness in the house once the chicks left?
Surprisingly, Chrislyn was quite messy but I'm very messy as well but only in my room, everywhere else was quite clean. Teale is quite tidy, Wes was never in the house. I left my room in a pig-sty. I like it to be in a pig-sty, I feel comfortable.
Do you feel Wes is at an advantage because he doesn't have to be in the house and can go home for comfort and stuff like that?
Um, definitely. I think he should be allowed to go home but I think there needs to be a balance.
Do you have any regrets?
No I do not regret anything about Idol or going on Idol. My mate dared me to do it.
You got pretty far for a dare!
I know (laughs) I'm glad I did it.
Did you enjoy the WHO shoot last week?
Yeah, that was cool! We weren't allowed real scotch, we had apple juice and I spilt it all over myself and I felt like an idiot. I had to blow-dry myself dry.
Are you a gambler in real life?
No, no the only thing I gamble with is my health. (Laughs)
'How are you coping with being a chick magnet now?
I would not say that I'm a chick magnet but I like the fact that people are making up things like that and saying that I am a lady killer. I like these kind of titles.
Kyle goes on about it a lot.
I know! I think he's trying to live vicariously through people. It's good to have people make up such titles about me. It's not really true, yet! I'm trying to live up to it. I'm trying my hardest. And it's not working.
No undies thrown at you yet?
No. I love undies. I wish.
And you're singing Sex on Fire at the Idol finale on Sunday night?
Yeah, I'm going to do the whole song as well.
So what's the plan now?
I would definitely like to be in a band environment. I need to have that support. It was a little bit awkward with Idol just standing in the middle of the stage not being able to feed off the other musos as much.
You seem more like a band singer.
Well that's what I've always done, in dirty smoky pubs. But you can't smoke in pubs anymore!
Have you got band members picked out?
No I haven't. Maybe I should make my own reality TV show!
