Did you have any inkling it would be you?

No, not at all. I wasn't even thinking of it, I was in a little bit of a trance, it all happened so quickly. We'd just performed, Natalie was announcing it on stage, and I'd had to go do a quick change. I was running through the corridors, putting on my heels and I can't actually run in 6 inch heels that quickly! That was hilarious. The joys of live TV!

What does the win mean?

It's obviously changed my entire life, especially the direction my career's going to go in and just made things a whole lot easier for me. I've always had to fight for everything. Now I have some kind of security so I can push myself without having to worry about everything.

So you are going to appear on the finale of the US So You Think You Can Dance?

That is going to be the most insane nerves ever. And the finale! Like the amount of people and exposure that gets is insane! I'm really excited to see the American judges again. I love Nigel (Lythgoe). I respect absolutely everything he does.

Do you want to be on Mary Murphy's Hot Tamale Train?

I am! She put me on it, so that was pretty cool. I'll say I'm still on it.

Do you agree you were the dark horse of the competition?

I think I was, because I'm naturally very shy. I didn't have the massive big personality, so I never thought of myself being a contender to win. All I had to rely on was my dancing. As I got more comfortable, I felt better about showing more of my personality and I think that's what people connected with. It's just amazing to think I'm a little bit popular. That's kind of cool!

You've told me before you barely spoke at the start of the comp.

Yes, insanely. Being a ballet dancer, we're always quite reserved. You don't speak in ballet or in classes. But from this show, you become a chirpier, happier person through the pure enjoyment, that's what made me come out of my shell. I realised just to have fun.

And you've discovered your inner sex kitten?

I think so. The contestants were like 'Where did that come from?' I remember Kat telling me 'You're the sexiest ballerina I've ever seen.'

What's the first thing you want to do when you get back in the real world?

I wouldn't mind going for a cruise in my car. It's a little bomby one, the only one I could afford, with my Maltese puppy, Vegas, and just be normal. But only for two days. Then I want to get back into it! I get bored way to easily.

Is it true you kissed Charlie on stage last night?

Did I?! I don't know. We just kiss everybody. We seriously do.

So you're not together?

No no, dancers are all like that. Every single dancer. We're all just very close.

Still single?

I am.

Have you noticed any more attention from boys?
There was a little bit more last night. That's kind of fun. I'm looking forwards to that.
