Stars Without MakeUp

STARS WITHOUT MAKEUP
Flawless onscreen and on the red carpet, we rarely see celebrities without the "face paint". So what do they really look like? Some of the most-watched Australian and international stars strip off the make-up (they are allowed un-tinted moisturiser and a dab of lip-balm) for WHO and dare to bare the faces they have grown into, the flaws they've learned to love and reveal their own insecurities and attitudes towards ageing. We feature Australian singer and radio personality Ricki-Lee Coulter, Channel Seven presenter Johanna Griggs, actress Lisa McCune and global names including supermodel mum turned Project Runway host Heidi Klum, as well as Hollywood actresses Ashley Green, Amanda Seyfreid, Diane Kruger and Robin Wright.

Our local cover stars say:

Ricki-Lee on accepting her flaws: "Up to a couple of years ago I wanted to cover everything. I used to hate my freckles. People didn't even know I had them because I covered them all the time. Now I love my freckles."

Johanna Griggs on why she won't be tempted by cosmetic procedures: "I look at my mum and think she's absolutely beautiful, and that's because she's aged gracefully and you can tell that she's had a great and full life. It's a shame when somebody tries to take that back."

Lisa McCune on growing into her own skin: "I haven't done Botox or anything, but if I ever get stressed about the way I look because I've got bad crease lines, then I don't have a problem with it."

NAT BASS SIGNS OFF!

TV presenter and Underbelly star Natalie Bassingthwaighte takes WHO along with her to the Logie Awards in Melbourne and announces that the star-studded night is actually her farewell to the industry that has turned her into a star. "I'm looking forward to relaxing and figuring out what I want to do with my life after I deliver this baby," says the six months pregnant star. It is not just a temporary retirement from the spotlight either: she has totally overhauled her lifestyle in the lead-up to becoming a first-time mum - even halting her exercise routine on doctor's orders. "I can't stop looking at my belly, going, 'How does it stretch like that?' I'm in awe of it."

MET GALA GOSSIP & GLAMOUR

From Sarah Jessica Parker in vintage Halston to Twilight star Kristen Stewart in Chanel haute couture and a loved-up couple appearance from Justin Timberlake and girlfriend Jessica Biel, the Met Costume Institute Gala is the perfect collision of fashion, stars and drama. WHO checks out the fashion hits and misses and all the intriguing gossip (such as Sienna Miller wearing her old engagement ring to on-again boyfriend Jude Law!).

HALLE BERRY: HER FAIRYTALE ROMANCE IS OVER

After four and a half years with handsome model Gabriel Aubry, Oscar winner Halle Berry, 43, and the 34-year-old father of her gorgeous daughter Nahla have called it quits. While the pair, who split quietly several months ago, are "going to raise [Nahla] together," insiders reveal the split has been less than amicable. "She kicked him out months ago because he wasn't able to pull his weight in the relationship," says a source.

JESSE JAMES: LIFE WITHOUT SANDRA

Jesse James, the scandal-ridden husband of Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, has revealed that he is working on repairing their relationship, despite the fact that just a week ago she confirmed she had filed for divorce. "He wants to put the pieces back together and work on being a good dad and a good partner [to Sandra] - wherever that situation may end up," says a friend.
