Emma Watson's speech about feminism and gender equality made waves back in September when she announced the launch of the HeForShe campaign in a United Nations address.

The campaign aims to "galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for gender equality," Watson said at the time, and to correct the misconceptions surrounding modern feminism.

However, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams was not particularly impressed by Watson's speech.

"A lot of what Emma Watson spoke about, I just think, 'That doesn't bother me,' " Williams, 17, told The Guardian. "I know things aren't perfect for women in the U.K. and America, but there are women in the rest of the world who have it far worse."

Once her comments began to gain traction, Williams Tweeted what may have been a response to the fervor:

"My recent research has shown me that 'feminism' has become an unpopular word. Women are choosing not to identify as feminists ... Why has the word become such an unpopular one?" the Harry Potter star asked in September.

"I think it is right I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I should make decisions about my own body. I think it is right that women be involved on my behalf in the policies and decisions that affect my life. I think it is right that socially, I am afforded the same respect as men."

Williams is currently filming season 5 of Game of Thrones, which is set to air in the spring of 2015. She teased to The Guardian that "there's a big ending for Arya. They're basically breaking her down, and you get to see behind the cracks."
