Iggy Azalea picked up her first music award ever at the AMAs Sunday, for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album.

In a brief, emotional acceptance speech, Azalea thanked her mentor, T.I., after mentioning how meaningful it was for her to have her first major music award be for hip-hop.

"This award is the first award I've ever won in my entire life, and means so much to me that it is for best hip-hop, because that's what inspired me to move to America and pursue my dreams," said the Aussie native. "It's what helped me when I was a teenager to escape and to get through my life and to better times."

Interestingly, she chose to mention Eminem, who waged a largely one-sided war against Azalea recently, seemingly threatening to rape her in the lyrics to a leaked song called "Vegas."

"It means so much that I can stand here against Eminem and Drake and come out with this," Azalea, 24, said on stage alongside T.I. (who came to her aid when she was targeted by Snoop Dogg earlier this year) before hugging him.
