Blake Garvey has quickly become a polarising personality after publicaly breaking up with Sam Frost less than 24 hours after the finale of this season of The Bachelor aired.

The Bachelor's Blake Garvey and his former fiancee Sam Frost have given wildly different accounts about what she knew of his feelings for fellow bachelorette, Louise Pillidge, in the weeks following the show's October 2 finale.

According to Garvey, news of a romance with Pillidge is nothing new for Frost. In fact, it was Frost told him not to mention his feelings for Pillidge during an earlier interview with Carrie Bickmore on The Project on October 6.

Asked directly if he was still involved with any of the Bachelorettes in the wake of his ill-fated proposal in South Africa, "It's not about that right now," an emotional Garvey told Network Ten's The Project on October 6. Was he being deliberately evasive? "I don't think I did dodge any question," he told WHO the next day. "I'm still recovering from this intense experience."

Despite the "intense experience", Frost was not in the dark, says Garvey: "I had been requested by Sam not to mention anything about Louise," he told Bickmore in the latest interview, aired on Monday, October 20.

"She knew I had feelings for Louise."

"I would have liked to have been a bit more up front with the public but my priority there was to fulfill Sam's wishes."

Later, he took to Twitter to reiterate his point:

It's a far cry from the story Blake's former fiancee, Sam Frost, is telling, however.

In a preview shown on Monday night's The Project, Frost reacted with disbelief when she heard Garvey say she had asked him not to mention Pillidge.

"That is the biggest load of s*** I have ever heard in my life," she said. "You are such a liar dude."

Hyde said Garvey telephoned her after the show had wrapped: "He asked me if I still had feelings for him and if I could see a future with him."

Pillidge told The Project she needed to support Garvey and trust in his word. Still, Garvey said the couple want to move forward in a normal way and felt they couldn't do so without announcing their relationship publicly.

"There is a real love story here, there is a beautiful love story," he said.

Garvey also said despite rumours to the contrary, none of the bachelorettes was pregnant with his baby.
