Nicole Kidman 'In Shock' Following Father's Death

Dr. Antony Kidman, father of Nicole Kidman, has died following a tragic accident on Friday, WHO can confirm.

Dr. Kidman, a clinical psychologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology Sydney, was visiting Nicole's sister, Antonia Kidman, and her six children in Singapore when the accident occurred.

"Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father," Nicole's publicist and friend, Wendy Day, said in a statement.

"She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time," Dart added.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Dr Antony Kidman died on Friday after suffering a suspected heart attack in the restaurant of exclusive hotel Tanglin Club in Singapore after a routine morning workout.

Kidman's mother, Janelle Kidman, Dr. Kidman's wife and Nicole and Antonia's mother, was not in Singapore at the time. Kidman, who was home in Nashville, Tennessee when she learned of her father's death, is due to arrive home from the US on Sunday to her grieving family in Sydney.

"This is devastating news," a family friend tells WHO following Dr. Kidman's death.

"Antony is incredibly close to both Nicole and Antonia. He was a rock to them all."

On Friday, Nicole's husband, Keith Urban, cancelled a scheduled concert in California to be by his wife's side.

Urban posted a message to fans on Facebook on Saturday morning in which he spoke of his family's pain.

"I'm so very sorry that I cannot perform this weekend," he said in reference to his scheduled performance at the Washington State Fair. "We are in a deep state of grief at the passing of Nic's Father and are heading to Australia to be with family."

"We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their love, prayers and support through this devastating loss."
