Dustin Hoffman has been successfully treated for cancer, his rep Jodi Gottlieb tells WHO exclusively.

"It was detected early and he has been surgically cured," she says. "Dustin is feeling great and is in good health."

The two-time Oscar-winning actor and director, 75, will undergo doctor-recommended preventative treatments to minimize the chance of a recurrence in years to come.

Gottlieb declined to disclose further information about Hoffman's cancer or treatments.

Hoffman has spent the last year promoting his film, Quartet, which marked his directorial debut.

He recently wrapped production on Jon Favreau's Chef in mid-July and is scheduled to begin filming Roald Dahl's Esio Trot opposite Dame Judi Dench in the fall.

The actor will also star in the feature film, Boys Choir, set to begin production later this year or early 2014.
