2. Involve Your Partner
When it comes to sticking to their diets, many women are sleeping with the enemy. When US-based weight-loss specialist Dr Howard M. Shapiro analysed data from more than 6,000 patients, he found that 70 per cent of women struggled with lack of support from their husbands.
If your husband is bringing home cakes, biscuits and your favourite mint-choc ice-cream, he may just be oblivious to your weight-loss efforts, but he also may feel threatened by the changes you're making to your body. Encourage him to join you—take walks together, experiment with new healthy foods and reassure him that your desire to improve your health is no reflection on him. Research shows that if one partner improves his or her habits, the other often follows suit.
