Diet Tips From Olympian Melinda Gainsford-Taylor

1. Be aware of what you’re eating.

If people only understood just how much exercise it takes to work off so much of the food we eat, they’d probably think twice before indulging. The key is to be conscious of what— and how much—you’re putting in your mouth.

2.Don’t be too strict.

It’s really important to have your ‘nights off’. There’s this certain laksa that I love, so I get it once a week or so—especially if I’ve been eating well. You have to be able to enjoy yourself sometimes!

3. Listen to your hunger signals.

When you’re deciding what to eat, ask yourself, Do I really need this? Is it good for me? And watch your portion sizes—that’s really important.
