Liz Byrski, 68, novelist & author
“I recently had my 68th birthday. Some of my friends didn’t make it this far, so I’m excited about still being here, and I plan to make the most of it. My next book is due out in September, so that’s pretty exciting, too. My greatest ambition is to get better at what I do and to diversify my writing. I’d like more time to write both fiction and nonfiction. I’m throwing myself into ageing with curiosity and enthusiasm; I’ve discovered that life gets better with age. My 40s were great, my 50s were even better, and, I have to say, my 60s have been the very best time of my life. I’m more confident, more competent, calmer and more content with the simple things than ever before.”
