Already exercising regularly? Research shows that you’ll see more results in less time if you trade longer, moderate workouts for the shorter, more intense variety. Alternate between walking for 30 seconds at a challenging pace and one minute at a moderate pace, slowly increasing the time you spend at the harder pace as you gradually become fitter. Apply the same technique to running, swimming or cycling.
