Try this simple recipe with the kids.
4 cups self-raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup thickened cream
1 cup pink or regular lemonade
1 tablespoon milk
- Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan forced). Lightly spray a baking tray with canola oil and dust with flour.
- Sift the flour, a pinch of salt and baking powder into a large bowl. Add the cream and lemonade, mix to form a soft dough. * Turn out onto a lightly floured surface, knead lightly until smooth.
- Press out the dough until it is about 2cm thick. Using a 5cm round cutter dipped in flour, cut out 16 scones. Place onto baking tray and brush with milk. Bake for 12-15 min. Serve scones warm with cream and strawberry jam.
