Australia Day is about celebrating what makes us quintessentially Australian, and what’s more Aussie than the tried and tested combination of Vegemite and cheese? This pairing is as cherished as other famous Australian couples – Jason and Kylie, Kath and Kim, stubbies and thongs, snags and a barbie – and Cheesymite Scrolls have been a staple and much loved product at Bakers Delight since their creation three decades ago.
All 614 Bakers Delight bakeries across the country will be busy preparing for the giveaway this week, with thousands of bakers getting up extra early on 26 January to hand craft and bake fresh from scratch the Mini Cheesymite Scrolls. Over 250,000 customers are expected to enjoy a free Cheesymite on the day.
“We’re a proud Australian owned success story and are grateful to all of our 2 million customers that we serve each and every week in local communities across Australia,” said Bakers Delight spokesperson Kendra Teasdale.
“In addition to our ongoing commitment to supporting local schools, clubs and community groups, this year we’re giving something extra back to our customers on Australia Day by offering a free Mini Cheesymite Scroll to anyone who comes to a bakery.”
“It’s about celebrating and delighting our customers. Cheese and Vegemite first came together at Bakers Delight 31 years ago and we’re happy to say they have been going strong every since.”
