    I am 9 weeks pregant was told by GP last week the private cover i have does not cover pregancy.  The refree I got is to doc who will charge $300 for ultra sound I can not afford this every visit are there other options I live in Capital City please help i am so overwhelmed.

    I had both my ultrasounds done a different places they both just bulkbilled them and i was fererred for blood tests and all the rest and it was all free as well i live in coffs harbour and i was not on a health care card as i was working full time

    Hi Jess, if you go through the public system every thing including your ultrasounds are free. I have private insurance for pregnancy and was a private patient in a public hospital and cannot speak highly enough of the system. Most of the complaints I hear about are from private hospitals. Call your local women's and children's hospital and they will tell you how to get booked in. Good luck, hope your pregnancy goes well.
