Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall has revealed he has slept with more than 1000 women during his career which has spanned three decades.

The 54-year-old, who came to fame in the '80s and '90s with songs such as If You Don't Know Me By Now and Fairground, admits he's had more than his share of luck with the ladies, but is adamant he's "never bragged about it."

“I don’t keep count. I’ve no idea, but I would think over a 25-year period that’s (1,000 women) probably reasonable to say. But do I want to say it? No. It’s not what makes me tick. I don’t put chips on the bedpost.”

The British-born singer, who is now in a long-term relationship with Gabriella Wesberry, with whom he shares a daughter, 7-year-old daughter Romy True, revealed that when he found fame at 24 he felt 'invincible' and like a 'kid in a candy store'.

"A red-headed man is not generally considered to be a sexual icon, but when I had the fame, oh my God, it went crazy," he revealed to The Guardian in 2010.

“Between 1985-1987, I would sleep with about three women a day, every day,” he said.

"I never said no. This was what I wanted from being a pop star. I was living the dream, and my only regret is I hurt some really good girls."

After splitting up in 2010, Mick is set to reunite with his band mates next year for a 30th anniversary world.
