It was a close call however for the 27-year-old sportsman who had to rush to the hospital from a driving range to make it in time for the birth.

David had tweeted just hours earlier: "Off to the driving range with my Callaway clubs. Hopefully I get a call from Candice Falzon saying she is ready. #push".

The couple, who have been together for just over a year after meeting via twitter, announced they were expecting - as well as engaged - in New Idea back in March.

"This is an Ashes baby," she gushed to New Idea, revealing she fell pregnant during the coveted championship at the beginning of the year.

"We were just so happy to find out our baby was healthy - but to then become his fiancee and know that I get to marry the man I love and adore, and who constantly makes me smile, is amazing!"
