Robert Pattinson has spoken up for the first time since Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal.
The Twilight hunk, 26, appeared on The Daily Show on Monday night, where he and host Jon Stewart dove into pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
The interview marked Pattinson's first television appearance since girlfriend Kristen Stewart's hookup with director Rupert Sanders was revealed.
Pattinson cracked a few jokes with Jon Stewart before speaking about his highly-publicized relationship drama. The Cosmopolis actor explained:
"The biggest problem in my life is that I'm cheap and I didn't hire a publicist." He added that 'normally actors get these things scripted' for 'awkward interviews'.

As they chatted over ice cream, Stewart joked to Pattinson: "Listen, the last time I had a bad breakup, Ben and Jerry got me through some of the tougher times, so I thought that you and I could bond over this."
He added: "Boy you are better off, kick her to the curb!"
Stewart then told Pattinson: "When you are young and you break up, it's powerful and it feels like the world is ending. This is the first time I have seen the world actually react that way. It's insanity."
Pattinson also walked the red carpet at the New York premiere of Cosmopolis, and relaxed at the after party.
An insider told People Magazine: "He was very charismatic, all smiles, looking very relaxed and hugging all who stopped by to say hi.
"The general crowd gravitated towards his table, but he was shielded by security. He was surrounded by women and the movie's cast."
