Singer and former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus, 19, spoke to Marie Claire about her relationship with 22-year-old Aussie Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.

Although she raised eyebrows for announcing her engagement at a young age, Cyrus defended her plans to marry her boyfriend.
She explained: "Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with."

However, she said the couple are planning to have a long engagement, adding:
"I don't really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other."
Cyrus also dished on her engagement rock, a vintage Neil Lane ring hand-cut in the 1800s.

She said: "I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty.
"I just love that it's old and has a story. And I'm happy because it doesn't look like anything else I wear."
The 'Party in the U.S.A.' singer revealed of her relationship with Hemsworth, who she met on set of her 2009 film The Last Song:
"Neither of us is super jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other."
