Ice Age: Continental Drift star Queen Latifah, 42, told The View on Wednesday that she's hoping to become a mother.
The actress hinted that she may already be in the process of adopting a child, explaining: "I'm actually kind of working on that."
She added: "I just always wanted to bring a child home."
Latifah also revealed her inspiration behind adopting a baby. She admitted:
"I think I saw one of those specials… you know those movies of the week."
The hopeful future mother told The View host Barbara Waters:
"I'm totally serious, so if you got a kid that you don't ... just give me a year, let me set up camp and send me the kid."
If she does adopt a child, Latifah will follow in the footsteps of other stars including Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock.
As she thinks about motherhood, the actress is set to star in the TV movie version of Steel Magnolias next year.
