In an exclusive interview with New Idea, out today, TV favourite Kerri-Anne Kennerley, 58, has revealed she is battling breast cancer.
Just seven days after her shock diagnosis, she tells of her progression through a barrage of emotions and thoughts – including shock, denial, problem-solving practicality and gut-churning fear.

But most of all she is determined to beat the disease and leave it behind her.
‘I didn’t have any of the risk factors,’ she tells New Idea in the exceptionally raw and moving chat. 'That’s why I thought it could never happen to me. I’ve always looked after myself, but here I am.
'The doctor told me if I hadn't lost eight kilograms on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), and if I hadn't been fiddle-faddling with that beaded bra, I might not have realised there was anything wrong for months.
'I guess you could say DWTS may have saved my life.'

She has done well for a person with cancer, no hair loss, no lesions, but some how can have Botox, ask any oncologist if this is possible, a big publicity stunt
ReplyVery sorry to hear about the diagnosis, however as a breast cancer survivor I do resent people in the public eye being portrayed as 'brave for being honest about it' or somehow martyred for getting through it. There are thousands of women out there who have to be 'honest' about it to their boss's, family and friends, who don't have 'the support of the nation' and who simply get through it. Less attention to the 'stars' and more to the 'normal' people - often with far less support and financial options - by the media would be a welcome change. Having said that - as an individual I wish her all the luck and strength to get through this challenging time.
