Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are being sued by a secretary who was fired for taking too much time off work.

Ana Charlotiaux, 45, worked at Chateau Miraval, the couple’s mansion in the south of France, until she was dismissed in February of last year.

She is now suing the management of their £20 million estate for £55,000, the UK's Daily Mail reported.

The paper reported that Charlotiaux was hired in 2008 to manage telephone and email enquiries at Chateau Miraval but is now claiming she was fired after her sickness caused her to miss work, and was told her absence was detrimental to the smooth running of the property.

Her lawyer, Emmanuel Ludot, is claiming wrongful dismissal.

Ludot told a panel who rule on employment disputes in France: “This money is a drop in the ocean for these stars. She has nothing against them personally, and says she was always treated well by them, but they did not step in to prevent her being dismissed.”

Ludot claimed his client took less than five months off over the two years that she worked at the estate. He said her absence did not cause the estate to be disrupted or lose money.

“Mr Brad Pitt, who is also famous for his charity work and adoption of children, should understand that my client should be compensated as soon as possible. We hope they will both be faithful to their reputation for humanitarian causes", Ludot said.

Beranger Boudignon said on behalf of the estate that the demands were "unfair and unfounded" and that Charlotiaux filed the suit in order to make money, the Mail reported.

An employment disputes tribunal will deliver its verdict on the case on February 7 of 2012.

Depending on the circumstances does still seem a bit much. I know someone on disability and had one day off in 3 years. Used to get sick all the time but was lucky that she started late and didn't work full time. Still......she dragged herself many-a-day. Was just grateful she could do something. She said it made her feel useful and gave her a reason to get up in the morning.

Why would angelina get herself tattooed? It's like throw a tin of paint on Rembrandt. It's a terrible fad/fashion & I hope it dies out soon. Tatts are for prison inmates. Call me old fashioned, I dont care.

two years work and five months leave and now claiming 55,000.00 pounds I think this lady just after for some money with my favourite good couple. I hope they don't pay as this is just some woman who wants to make money. Their are good couple who did a lot of good humanatarian works, and adoptions to make less fortunate children have a better life they deserve better than people like you, i am sorry you were sick but c'mon be honest you were just after some big bucks!!
