Princess Mary’s new tragedy

Princess Mary is struggling to come to terms with a new personal tragedy, following the shock passing of a member of staff who’s described as being like a mother to her.

New Idea this week exclusively reveals that lady’s maid Tina Jorgensen, 53, had worked for Mary for eight years and had attended a gala with her just hours before she mysteriously passed on October 29.

It’s a new blow for Mary who, according to Danish press reports, has recently been struggling with the loneliness of her position.

‘[Tina] was like a mother to us all,’ says Mary’s hairdresser Soren Hedegaard.

‘It was her unique personality that made her the Crown Princess’ maid.’

Tina also cared for Mary and her husband Crown Prince Frederik’s children – Christian, six, Isabella, five, and twins Josephine and Vincent, 22 months – and helped look after their beloved pooch Ziggy.

Now Mary is facing the difficult task of explaining Tina’s passing to her family.

But no member of the household will miss her more than Mary.

Even the night before she died, Tina helped dress the Aussie royal for the Lung Association’s gala at the Royal Theatre.

It’s the second major loss for Mary, 40, after her mother died following a heart operation before the princess met Frederik, 44.
