What you’ll need

  • 12cm x 26cm printed cotton fabric

  • 12cm x 26cm coordinating cotton fabric

  • 12cm x 26cm medium fusible pellon

  • 35cm elastic (adjust length to fit)

  • 55cm gathered trim

  • Matching thread

  • Pins

  • Scissors

  • Sewing machine

  • Iron

  • Paper & pencil

How to make
1 Using the template, cut one eye mask from printed cotton fabric (front), one from coordinating fabric (back) and one from fusible pellon. Iron the fusible pellon to the wrong side of the mask front.

2 Pin gathered trim to right side of mask front aligning raw edges with trim facing into the centre. Sew trim in place 8mm in from the raw edge. Pin ends of elastic to each side of the mask front aligning raw edges. Sew in place 8mm in from edge.

3 Pin mask front to mask back, right sides together, enclosing elastic, and trim within and sew together using a 1cm seam allowance, leaving a 6cm opening along the top edge for turning through.

4 Trim seams, clip curves and turn right side out. Press flat. Topstitch mask 3mm in from the edge, then sew the opening closed.
