You're so 'vein', you probably think this story's about you!

Fitness fanatic Madonna looks like she's gone too far in her obsession to be the queen of lean. She spends so much time in the gym that she has not one ounce of fat left on her long arms, which were on the flabby side when she first shot to fame in the 1980s.

The result is that her mass of veins and muscles now pop out, which is just the way the Queen of Pop seems to like it. But critics say the superstar's sickening sinewy look is far from sexy or even feminine.

Up in arms
The 50-year-old singer was snapped with her bizarre new look while leaving a London restaurant with her Brazilian toyboy lover Jesus Luz, 22. Her bulging biceps and protruding blue veins shocked onlookers outside. One witness says she looks 'a lot older' than her age while another fan declared she's now 'scary and alien-like'.Her once famous cleavage has also vanished and has been replaced by a bony chest and much smaller breasts.'The old saying is that you cannot be too rich or thin,' a music industry insider says. 'But when it comes to Madonna's body, especially her arms, this is clearly not the case.'Body composition expert Martin MacDonald believes Madonna's problem is she's lost way too much weight.'I work a lot with body builders and they look similar to this - like very lean athletes,' he says. 'Her veins and her muscles aren't really oversized but they look bigger because she's so skinny. She has slight malnourishment issues.'Depending on how you view it, she's either committed or obsessed,' he says.

Fitness addict
Madonna is in the middle of her gruelling Sticky & Sweet tour, and she's been training for two hours a day, six days a week, to hone her physique. But the effects have been way over the top, even by her own tough standards.Last month, the mum-of-four flew in her personal trainer Tracy Anderson from New York to get her in tip-top condition.Madonna, who follows a strict macrobiotic diet, spends an hour on her cardio workout, then 30 minutes on Pilates and 30 minutes on her arms. She's believed to have stepped up her arm work after America's First Lady Michelle Obama won praise for her arms, and also after startling photos last month showed the singer's 'bingo wings', a sign of her true age.Her trainer jumped to her defence following criticism that exercise has become an addiction for the star and that her fitness regimen makes her appear 'unwomanly'.'Madonna is an athlete, she's just like a baseball or soccer player,' Tracy says. 'I don't have to scream at her because she's motivated. But two hours is the most she exercises a day. Madonna will never look her age. She doesn't even look half her age.'But Tracy seemed to admit that vain Madonna's veins are unsightly. 'I have completely changed Madonna's body,' she says. 'I told her to forget everything she'd been taught before and to give up yoga, which can make you terribly veiny.'She's very healthy and looks fantastic, but those veins have nothing to do with me.'
