The downside of your morning coffee

The good news for coffee drinkers is pouring through thick and fast. In the latest, two separate studies have determined that regular coffee drinkers have a significantly less chance of developing type 2 diabetes and no greater risk of developing chronic illnesses than occasional sippers.

Wuhan University researchers have linked particular compounds in coffee’s make-up to the positive news on type 2 diabetes, while scientists at the German Institute of Human Nutrition report that as well as the lower diabetes risk, people who drink more than four cups at day don’t raise their chances of developing chronic illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.

But the fancier your cup of coffee, the worse it is for your belly.
