People who exercise for at least 150 minutes a week experience a better night’s sleep and feel less groggy throughout the day, found a study by Oregon State University. Researchers tracked the physical activity of 3081 individuals for seven days, then compared their data against subjects who were not very active.
The findings: your risk of feeling overly sleepy during the day is 65 per cent lower if you exercise reguarly.
The reason: a lack of oxygen makes you sleepy. The more oxygen you consume during the day, the more your body works to recover at night.
