The secret: plyometrics, or explosive movements that can sharpen your nervous system, boost power production and increase vertical-jump performance by more than five per cent, according to a recent study in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. Prepare to launch.

Do this:Perform each workout once a week on separate days, taking every fourth week off. Do each pair of exercises as a superset; rest for 20 seconds after the first exercise and for 90 seconds after the second. Do each superset four times.
